Since I’ve ungimped Laria ( thanks to the swashbuckler tree ) I’ve managed to cap her and get her flagged to thunderpeak ( I’ll get down to flagging her to wyrm too someday… but she needs to be better equipped than what she has right now to survive in either long as it has been proved ), I’ve been working on Tenalafel… And well compared to The Kender he is a huge gimp…
He has no DPS, he is squishy as hell, and I’m not even going to talk about his ability to survive… even by my standard they are really poor. ( he is worse than Laria was before she got ungimped by the swashbuckler tree and SWF )So the mission is to ungimp him through LR.
I have enough LR Hearts ( Including +1, +3, +5 and +20 ones ) to be able to do anything with him.The rules are simple :
– He needs to be an Elf, that’s not negociable.
– He needs to be loosely tied to his original PnP character ( Rogue 9/Wiz 15 in ADD2 terms ).All the rest is possible. As for the outfitting, I’m open to suggestion.
August 30, 2014 at 2:09 pm #5414LegendMemberClass Split? What do you want him to do mainly? weapons/spells?
Should just need to use the +20 once, it is then all about getting right mix of equipment, max dodge and prr along with enhancements.
August 30, 2014 at 7:01 pm #5415LisaMemberGet someone else to play him? 😛
August 30, 2014 at 8:39 pm #5416FlaviaMemberChanging the player is sadly not a viable option 😛
As for the class mix, weapon/spell… First : I’m not that good with an arcane.
( consider that I have two arcanes… one if the Monday Group Mage )So Weapon it is going to be… the rest is open. Class split is also open, as long as it’s loosely tied with his PnP Origin. ( loosely is the important term here )
August 31, 2014 at 11:17 am #5418SinaefayMemberCould go 13rog/5wiz/2ftr, and cherry pick stuff from the eldritch knight tree to boost melee, get extend and quicken and useful buffs from wiz, fighter gives feats, haste boost, extra boosts, and take elf dragonmark to get the displace mark.
September 1, 2014 at 3:47 pm #5426RyanMemberSo, you dont want to be gimp and survive in the toughest content?
Im thinking……
Sun Elf,
20 Levels of Wizard (Pale Master)
Carry some lock picks, GDM scrolls and load Knock to satisfy your Rogue needs. If your not good with Arcanes then see it as a challenge to overcome and excel at. Everyone know you only need five spells as an Arcane.
You will be a living (well, undead) God and be practically unkillable (in an undead sort of way)
Ok, so its a bit tongue in cheek 🙂 (you could splash two levels of Rogue)
What about pure Assassin? I loved my Rogue life on Corazon and I regret not taking him into Epics.
September 1, 2014 at 4:34 pm #5427FlaviaMemberSadly Assassin doesn’t work well in Epic… The DC issue…
And since they killed the Mechanic tree, The Kender is supposed to fill that slot. While I appreciate the suggestion, I don’t think it’s for Tenalafel ( I’ll keep the Sun Elf/Wiz idea tucked somewhere for another character… the Gimp WF Wiz LVL 21 [yes I have one] )
September 1, 2014 at 5:01 pm #5428RyanMemberI didnt realise there was an issue with Assassinate DCs in Epics.
Another life I truly enjoyed was Tempest Trap Monkey but again I didnt take him into Epics (I actually didnt take any of Corazons lives into Epics except his FvS life) so Im only speaking from a Heroic contents POV.
Edit added……I always had issues with Traps on him so I guess that rules this one out as well 🙂
September 4, 2014 at 7:50 pm #5451FlaviaMemberI’ve toyed with The Planner tonight and here is what I came with :
Rog13/Brd5/Ftr2/5Epic (since he is LVL 25 )
I noted his current tomes ( STR +2, DEX +3, CON +3, INT +3 and WIS +1 )Below is what I’ve made… naked.
Feel free to comment/break the build… well you know the thing…
Since it’s my first serious attempt at making a decent build ( and a multiclass one to boot ), I’m certain I fell in all the pit traps available.Note : since the Planner doesn’t haveth SWF line yet, I took TWF instead, replace each of the 3 TWF feat for the SWF Feats.

September 4, 2014 at 9:32 pm #5452LegendMemberCan you please breakdown Feats u will choose and what u want from the 5 lvls of Bard, only obvious thing I can see is to increase Con at start, reduce str as you will more than likely get another stat to hit and damage with.
September 5, 2014 at 4:43 am #5456FlaviaMemberthey are noted at each level where there’s one to choose… remember TWF is in fact SWF as the planner doesn’t have SWF yet.
And I4ll work on STR -> CON. At a Glance I can probably do STR 10, CON 14
September 5, 2014 at 9:51 am #5459SinaefayMemberUnless you need int 16 for a req for something, you can probably get away with 10 or 12 int, as you got plenty of rogue levels to keep up trapping skills. I would put all level ups in dex as well, as int doesnt really give much unless you plan to rely more on the harper tree after u23, in which case INT is benefical (but would also make weap finesse useless).
I would also suggest that you dont put any points in hide/ms, or put just 1 in each, as sneaking isnt of much use in epics (I could sneak the sleeping dragon in eGH on Sin without any ranks in them, just with a +20 item, dex skills and dex mod, the DC for this is 52-53).
You can put 1 point in jump and still hit 40 at epic levels (at level 25, with a +6 str item and rage, you will have 1 (rank) + 5 (epic ranks) + 4 (atleast if not more, str mod) + 30 (spell or amrath clickie or cannith propulsion boots).
Definitely only put max 1 rank in swim (if at all), as you dont need anything more in there (as the ring of the buccaneer gives good enough boost to swim, as does merfolk’s blessing). Same for tumble, unless you really want to do somersaults :), only put 1 rank in it.
Max ranks in heal, as it will boost your healing spells much more than you think when you are in the upper epic levels).
I would say that putting points in diplo will help, as you can then bring mobs to a tank and the diplo them off you to the tank.
I would be tempted to suggest you taking toughness, as you might want to buff your hp a bit. I think you can skip PA and cleave, and go precision and something else and after u23 take Overwhelming Crit at epic levels instead.
I would also suggest taking imp evasion instead of crippling strike (epic mobs regen stat dmg every sec (or several points every 2 secs), and imp evasion will be much more beneficial. -
