    A few tips and tricks for the raid:

    Anyone in Divine Crusader ED should spec tier 5 Heavenly Presence. This helps if you get encased, you can just walk out of it (note that you will take damage until you do walk out of it). Asteroids can still be used to break the encasement but they are not available at the beginning of the fight. Before asteroids are available we’re just going to have to let people die and then res them quickly – healing encased people just wastes sp.

    Mobs respawn very quickly after being killed. The fight seems to revolve around managing the trash mobs. A good tactic is using Flesh to Stone – if they don’t die they don’t respawn. I shouldn’t have to say “don’t kill stoned mobs” but I will just in case.

    Bring Remove Curse pots.

    As well as encasing people, the Abbot also uses his Inferno attack. This can be avoided by standing right on the edge of the platform. The ticks from this attack drain sp and hp – you need to drink a remove curse pot to stop the ticks. There is no curse icon above your head to tell you that remove curse is needed, the inferno icon does appear in your debuff bar though.

    Lady Vol has a few special attacks too. One is a blue circle cast on the ground – if you find yourself inside one of these get out quickly or die instantly.

    Her other attack is also a blue circle (and is probably the Dragonmark of Death) but it covers the entire platform (she casts this just after the 3 Death Knights have been killed – survive this attack and we only need to beat the Abbot down to complete) – the only way to avoid it is to jump in the water, wait 2 seconds (taking damage from the water) and then jump back on the platform. A couple of points to be made here – make sure you can jump without the aid of the spell (as chances are it will have been dispelled or you will have died by this stage) or have a potion or clicky handy, also the platform has a beveled edge so if you are too close to it when you jump you will just bounce off the bevel and not jump onto the platform.

    If you die in the water your soul stone will reappear in the middle of the platform so you can be easily resurrected.

    Loot:

    I’ve already mentioned this one but if we succeed don’t all dive into the chest at once – if you do then there is a chance that some of us won’t get any loot. Form an orderly queue and loot the chest one at a time. Remove everything from the chest – even the trash like potions of water breathing and spell inscription materials that you normally leave in there. If you are putting stuff up for roll then do it at this stage and the winner of the roll can be the next person to loot. Once you’re done, the next person will do the same.

    Recipe for success

    Here’s what we need:

    High DC caster with Flesh to Stone (or 2 but 1 is enough)
    2 Healers
    DPS

    Two teams
    – first team (3 people – 1 healer + 2 DPS)
    – second team (everyone else)

    First team deal with portals – go in, kill the mobs, break sarcophagus, get out

    Second team deal with the platform.
    Caster casts Flesh to Stone on everything except Quells (which are red named) and Death Knights (also red named)
    DPS take down abbot and any stray mobs that are causing problems but leave anything that is stoned. Take down Quells quickly when they spawn.
    Safe spots for inferno are wherever the Empowered Devotees spawn – you can just stand behind one of them – chances are they will be stoned.
    You can survive inferno if you have a Pale Lavender Ioun Stone equipped and drink a Remove Curse potion when inferno stops. A Jeweled Cloak can be used instead of the Ioun Stone but will burn out quicker.
    If you get encased – die. Someone will res you (Healers, don’t heal encased people).

    When the portals have been cleared, Vol summons 3 Death Knights. These need to be killed.
    Avoid blue circles on the floor cast by Vol.
    When Vol casts her big AoE jump in the water, wait 2 seconds and jump back on the platform. Don’t jump around in the water, you’ll take more damage than if you just tread water.
    When Death Knights are killed, take the Abbot down.

    There is no need at any point to DPS Eranis Vol. Once the Abbot is dead we have won.

    Collect loot.

    Did you know what kind of DC is needed for epic hard?
    I’ve only run Mark of Death in EN
