    Hello friends,

i am writing here a little bit desperately needing advice. I have been searching around 2 weeks now the main forums, the vault for 2 main reasons. The first is to understand how the thrower mechanism and level / class split works along with the dps they do but cannot find anything new just obdsolete things before U36 and changes with AA imbues not working with anything but the bows.

Secondly i would like to revive the melee build Korvail was once and was raiding all the time with you back when Gianthold epics were endgame..For this reason i am thinking about a staff build or a maul build but i cannot decide going monk or rogue or anything else for splits when wielding a staff..

I know i put some vague questions here but actually many things are not clear in my head and that is very confusing. Will be great to hear opinions and start a discussion here with you all.

    Thanks..

    Hello Korv.

On Corazon I did my second and third Monk lives as Monkchers (pre imbue nerf) and had a blast.
For my final Fighter life (post nerf)I went 8Ftr 6Mnk 6Rgr and didnt get on with it as I felt it was a bit lacklustre due to the lack of embues.

That being said, I built it wrong – I built it as a pre nerf with lots of Wis for CC using paras. My mediocre Dex was very noticeable and I ended up ditching Shurikens and going fill time bow.

Ive seen post nerf Shuri throwers and they still work very well – Im sure Dag has one which is very strong (he pulls aggro frequently) and is very survivable, although I dont know the class split he uses.

What class split/ PL are you after as it will help people to know what you want.

Well concerning ranged build i am thinking of rogue/ monk splash or pure monk. i know 6 ranger give 40% doubleshoot in tier 5 DWS but the rogue monk split (12/8 or 14/6 or even 12/8/ 2 ftr) gets more sneak attack dmg and can be built starting from level 15 as an iconic and by an etr you can reset things and can make a rogue/monk split with qstaffs if someone is bored with shurikens or for a change…

When I started playing Funghus I loosely followed this build

    https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/463636-Some-New-Thrower-Builds?p=5661361&viewfull=1#post5661361

But as I wanted a deep gnome char I used that race, and used a lesser heart to get rid of the wizard level.

That build use a lot of action points in halfling racial tree, I used those points in the assasin tree, lots of good things there even if you are ranged.

At the beginning I followed the level split / plan in that forum post, but after a couple of epic reincarnations I found that the ranger levels gave very little, so used another heart to remove them and replace with more monk levels.

When I did that I took 6 monk levels to get a boost to the monk stance, and take 10k stars. Then I took one artificer level to get more spellpoints from my high intelligence and the arti dog when I am alone and need a lever puller somewhere. A wizard level would be useful too.

When I used 10k stars I found that to be not so good, as its power comes from many monk levels and high wisdom. As a ranged I also had to invest action points to get passive Ki regeneration.

On my last epic reincarnation I have not taken 10k stars, and instead used the action points I saved on not needing passive ki regen to use more points in harper to get know the angles. I feel that is more useful than 10k stars, but if I had more monk levels and higher wisdom I would probably have found 10k stars better.

Funghus is now 13 rogue / 6 monk / 1 artificer, and I like this.

You have been very helpful indeed!!! Your main stat is dexterity right? and secondly intelligence?

Yes, you want your dex as high as possible, to get as many shurikens per attack as you can. The build has 3 different things that increase number of shurikens per attack, I usually see 2-3-4 shurikens, often 5, and I believe I see 6 shurikens every now and then, but that is difficult to say 100%, as the numbers become a blur then 🙂

BTW, I prefer the Legendary dreadnaught epic destiny, but Shiradi and Fury of the wild are also good options.
