    Hi all.
Now that I have been playing around with my old toons, I have finally respecced my original Ispepxam character into a dual wielding Bastard Sword DPS toon.
This means I need to upgdate my current (extensive) Bastard Sword inventory to include at least one (two would be better) Nightmare BS from the CitW raid.
If any of you are running or have space in the raid and I’m online, please give me a shout and I’ll pike along…hee, hee. Still trying to get my head around all the changes so if I am a little off the pace for getting into the thick of the action, please bear with me. Just point me in the right direction – preferably not with a boot in the backside…
For those that would say why not set a date and organise the raid myself… been there and done that in my previous time here in guild with disastrous results. I don’t know enough about the game and group mechanics to lead a raid and my playtimes are variable around RL.
Hope to join you on the raid sometime soon – or if you know of other nice BS’s in game I can farm let me know.
    Cheers, Ispep – Jimmy

First Blood from Wheloon prison is a very nice sword. Beyond that, I think the good ones are limited. We dont do CITW that much anymore, but best to pay attention to our friday raids, as we do vary which raids we do (or ask Legend when you know you will be around a friday evening).

Just to add my bit Jimmy.

iirc you are running a sort if WF Juggy

    1) Raiders box – if you havent heard of it then you may not have used it. You can get a Nightmare from there.

    2) As an alternative, the Frostbite blade is OK – not great by any means, but is does have a red slot which is very handy to slot Reconstruction 114 in – a necessity for the harder Epic Elites. Slotting 114 Recon gives a near 500 hp reconstruct, meaning you dont have to take any healing twists.

    3) First Blood BS’s dont have a Red slot, neither does a Nightmare Nightmares can probably be upgraded to have a Red slot but I dont know for sure as Im too lazy to use my Comms

    4) Dont rule out the sparkly Qstaff from CiTW – I forget what its called. By using that you can stay centred, use a monk stance (whatever its called) and get a reasonable Dodge (near 30% iirc)

    4)

Thanks Jan and Ryan for the feedback.

Ryan, you are right that this build was a modified version of the juggernaut build. I never had the gear to make it work fully, but I found it fun to play with ranged, melee, trapping and casting abilities. A good all-rounder, if not a specialist in any one area.

I have managed to buy a First Blood from the AH to see how it will work, but an EE version would be nicer once I’m up a couple of levels (25 atm). I haven’t run through epic Whellon yet, so this will be a chance to farm one from there.

To be honest I wasted the raiders box before I realised how useful it might be (to get a Nightmare). For info, the Nightmare BS adds a red slot once it is at Tier 4. No easy feat to achieve, but its all part of the farming fun.

I’ll take a look at the Frostbite Blade (Scimitar) which has a red slot for any EE running I do. So far I haven’t done any…

As for the Sireth (qStaff from CitW) I am going to use this for another build I have which makes use of similar abilities to my jugg build, but adds the bladeforged iconic charachter class into the mix. I think there is a reference to it on the DDO Forums called Zeus, or something like that. Again, I don’t have the gear to make it work fully as intended and I’ve added a few changes of my own, but I am having fun so far levelling him up.

    Thanks again. Ispep – Jimmy

I can strongly recommend the ring of the master artifice from Cannith challenges, which grants Reconstruct, Archmagi, Reconstruction +90, Spelllore, Greater Auto-Repair, Repair Systems, Colorless Augment Slot, Green Augment Slot.
Not only can you use weapons more freely with it, it also has 2 slots if you fully upgrade it (tier3).

Another quarterstaff that is good for meleeing is the Stout Oak Walking Stick (From Eveningstar Villager commendations) – Quarterstaff: 2[2d6]+6, Increased Multiplier: 19-20/x3 (including Impact), Aligned, Impact, Fracturing, Felling the Oak, Immunity to Slippery Surfaces [ML:20] [15 Villager Commendations]
